I am not in any way resistant to the constant change and the plethora of feedback loops and all that.
I am interested in that fact and as it’s evolving, there’s stuff... there is some kind of "here’s where we are" sensibility and here’s what we want to check out or try because of X and Y, and just to get a better sense of it because I want to ...
This week is more of my interest although I am interested in the evolutions and how it became that way. As I said before, I made the mistake of saying - and I’ll make the same mistake again - I’m looking for a place to stand in the quicksand, in ...
Anything you guys could say that will help clarify all that, I would love to know.
"Then we decided when we were finished with the pol.is..." I’m going, "What do you mean? Wait a minute! What do you mean when you [say you] are ’finished’ with pol.is? Who’s deciding ’we are finished with the pol.is’? Who’s inviting these stakeholders? Which stakeholders are being invited to the ...
I’m going, "OK, well, who is ’we’? Who is ’the community’? Is there any sense of roles that are...? Does the staff hold a container of process and support and options and you can come talk to them? Who is doing what?
There’s all these staff and interns around Audrey. There’s this sense of g0v. It’s floating around and all these things intersect and stuff. I am just curious because there’s a number of times when you, Shuyang, say, "We did this, so the community did that."
That’s very intriguing, and I love it. I love the imagery, and trying to apply my experiences in open space, particularly five-day open spaces, which are totally different from one or two-day open spaces, and saying, "How would you actually live that?"
I now know enough to get down to more details. One of the things I am interested, I get this picture from Audrey that everybody just sort of floats in and organizes things and floats out. Whatever happens, the only thing it could have...and it’s, yeah.
I won’t push anything. I went back over my old list of questions. I have things there that I’ve extracted. I’m still curious about a lot of the new stuff came from your New York tape, Shuyang. I just took lots of notes during it.
Excuse me. Good morning.
She flipped out, appropriately flipping out. Are we going to see you, Audrey?
My daughter just asked me, she would be hearing about this, "Could you please explain it?" She is in the car racing somewhere. I had like eight minutes to try and explain vTaiwan to her.
Maybe some of the next things might be introductions, you introducing me into some of the platforms so I can function in that world with you.
If you want to set something up and invite me in, and I’ll see what I can do.
You’ll have to nurse me along on that, because I’m not familiar with the vast majority of platforms you use.
Ideally, there would be a space, which I don’t know how to create, for talking about this, for connecting up, for people who look at the video and go, "Whoa, I have questions. I want to talk to other people about it. I want to generate more videos of conversations ...
Sure. I don’t copyright any of my stuff, really.
There’s a "contribute to something" that is bigger than anything I’ve ever thought about that I would like to do. If you bump into anything like that, let me know, and we’ll just keep talking and doing whatever the heck we’re going to be doing.
If there was anything that I could do or say that would enhance the ability of this energy that you’re working with -- I don’t know exactly how to label it -- to go forth and multiply, [laughs] I would feel that was far more legacy than anything I could ...
I had a heart attack last year. As they were wheeling me into the emergency room, I was thinking, "Thank God I got the pattern language done." [laughs] This is a legacy project.
There’s a way in which I sense you carrying the sensibilities that I’ve had in remarkable new ways that, if they manifested well, would be way beyond any of the things I’ve been thinking, in terms of what kind of impact I want to have in the world.
I got my intentions satisfied or addressed in ways that I did not anticipate. Now I have to digest my experience. There’s a way in which, when I try to think what my biggest use was, I have a version of Miki’s question, in terms of how could we be ...
We are in the mystery.
We shall see.
That’s why I ask. That’s the motivation behind the question. There’s a way in which this is growing in a totally different way that might not even converge or whatever, but it’s...
It’s like that level of wealth, and I’ve been tracking some of the things that are done with that money, which are changing the dynamics of society in order to generate more wealth, which is what happens when power concentrates like that.
[laughs] I was thinking part of the situation, in the US particularly, but globally is there are some unbelievably wealthy people. I think it’s like the United States, like three people now who have wealth as big as the bottom half of the society.
What’s that?
Their mouths can drop and go, "Oh, God. What, what’s this?"
I would hunger more connection next week, but I need to find out where I’m going to be next week. I need to digest my world. I want to share this with a number of other people to help me digest it who are colleagues.
Each one is more powerful than the last. I don’t yet know how to manage that, lifestyle-wise. You’re [laughs] one of the big focuses of that lately, I try to absorb all of the material. Now I look back at all of the work I’ve put into it, and I’m ...
I keep adding layers of activity. I got five-and-a-half hours sleep last night and four hours of sleep the previous nights. It’s not healthy for me, I can feel it. I’m stacking initiatives on top of initiatives, all of which are compelling.
I think by April I will have a little more orientation and be able to talk. I don’t know what will happen by April. I really enjoy the conversation, if you want to stay in touch. It’s a rare feeling to feel over my head. I tend to be thinking ...
Go look him up. He’s Beyondananda, and he has lots of stuff on his websites that you can absorb and use.
Swami Beyondananda is Steve Bhaerman. He just did an interview with me last week. If you enjoy puns, he says, "There’s a great upwising that’s needed," one of his frequently used -- we’ve got to wise up.
[laughs] When you said "fundamentally," he does that. He goes, "Put the fun back into fundamental," and "Driving Your Own Karma." He’s a master of puns. He’s not a real swami. He’s a socially conscious, spiritually aware comedian who dresses up as a swami and does little punny-filled...
It’s something to meditate on. Yeah, I can think in that picture, easily. Do you know Swami Beyondananda?
I don’t think mathematically. I have very low mathematical aptitudes.
Who has the copyright on this picture?
No kidding. That’s so funny.
What a picture. [laughs]
I need to watch this video 5 or 10 times and absorb the energy, become a different person to be able to see through the eyes that you see through, which I can’t ever do, because I’m not living in the world that you are with the history you have, ...
Once again, with symmathesy, I had to do a major turn-my-head-around to center myself in her world. I’m feeling a similar kind of...I need to absorb this.
There’s something far more organic, and I don’t know what it is. I hope this conversation and video at least, as it bumps into people who go, "Oh, yeah. I know what he’s talking about. Tom doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground." Maybe this will help ...
When I go, "How do we spread this?" It’s not even spread. It’s a dandelion. How does this take seed, discover where is the place to drop down and sprout and flourish? It’s got to be that kind of energy. There’s things to do to facilitate it, to catalyze it, ...
I bump into yours, and it is fundamental and core. I recognize that, totally, in who you are and how you describe what’s happening. I go, "What this is, I don’t know." Theoretically, I know exactly what it is, but at a gut sense, I don’t have it.
I go, "Hey, there’s business to get down to. In the meantime, people are dying and things are being destroyed, so what the fuck? It feels like "we’re here to enjoy ourselves" energy, rather than there’s something fundamental and core about it.
I have to work at that part of it. There are other people who feel that kind of fun-life energy, the arts and all that, needs to be central. It is central. A lot of the manifestations that I see of that, I see being used in maintaining privilege, like, ...
If you don’t have exuberance as the core thing that’s happen, but you just stick with natural selection, how did exuberance...Exuberance is wasteful, so I’m going, "How did it survive?" It’s like all the research on how collaboration came to be, when it’s a dog-eat-dog world.
