We started NewsGuard about three years ago. The idea was to try to help people understand the difference between generally trustworthy sources of news and information and sources that are generally not trustworthy. I’d spent my career in journalism. I ran “The Wall Street Journal” and before that was based for almost a decade in Hong Kong running the “Far Eastern Economic Review” and other news operations for Dow Jones.
